The North Lenoir Hawks entered Rosewood's court with an unblemished record, but left with their first loss of the season.
The volleyball teams at Jones Senior High School experienced a mixed bag of results in their recent matches. The JV team continued their strong start to the season with a 2-0 win, while the varsity team faced a challenging 3-1 loss.

The Hawks managed to cut the lead to 26-12 with a 15-yard touchdown run by Joe Hendley. A subsequent defensive stop gave North Lenoir another scoring opportunity, which they converted when quarterback Malachi Ramsey found the end zone from 11 yards out. The Hawks trailed 26-18 with 3:44 remaining in the first half.
Both South Lenoir and Jones Senior entered their non-conference matchup coming off week one losses. The tension between the two teams was palpable, marked by chatter, shoves, and punches. Ultimately, South Lenoir dominated, winning 42-0 over Jones Senior.

Rouse is a key component for the Jones Senior volleyball team. She had an excellent week on the court with 12 service points, 12 aces, 10 kills, and 8 digs. Her performance helped prevail her team to two wins in week 1.
