The Lady Hawks Fall to Rosewood
The North Lenoir Hawks entered Rosewood's court with an unblemished record, but left with their first loss of the season. The Hawks fell to the Rosewood Eagles in straight sets on Tuesday night, dropping to 4-1 on the season while Rosewood improved to 5-1.
Dominant Performance
The Eagles set the tone early, capturing the first set 25-20. They then dominated the second set with a decisive 25-10 win. The Hawks showed signs of life in the third set but ultimately fell short, losing 25-20.
Key Players
For North Lenoir, Kaylee Kennedy led the team with 6 kills, while RiCayla Warren contributed 2 kills and 5 blocks. Laykn Whitley and Haley Hemby were strong from the service line, recording 10 and 8 service points, respectively.
Coach's Take
"I think we finally started playing well in the third set, it took us a while to get going," said North Lenoir Coach Heather Carson. "Rosewood is a great team and probably one of the toughest teams we have faced. We have figured out what we need to work on and hopefully we will take that to Thursday."
