Lancers pick up their second straight win of the season.

Arendell Parrott Academy (APA) opened their season on the road at Harrells Christian Academy, the only team to beat APA last year, and suffered a 47-0 loss.
he South Lenoir Blue Devils opened their 2023 Football Season on the road against the North Johnston Panthers in Kenly, NC. The Blue Devils fumbled the ball three times during the sweltering matchup. Two of those fumbles were returned by the Panthers for touchdowns. The Panthers also added another TD on the ground in the first quarter. At halftime, the score was 22-0, which also became the final score.
"I know every week won't be the same thing, but it's great to get off to this start right here and establish that we can put points on the board, and do our jobs defensively," said Jay Wilson, GC head coach.
"We have the talent and the heart," Giesleman emphasized. "Now it's about putting it all together and executing on both sides of the ball."
"Right now we are young. Sometimes we see mistakes, some are young mistakes. They're gonna have to grow, and we're gonna grow as a team and a coaching staff," Sellers said. "We did see some bright spots tonight."

In a thrilling start to the season, the Lenoir Community College Lancers secured a 3-1 victory against Central Carolina CC. The match showcased the Lancers' well-rounded skills, with solid hitting statistics distributed evenly across the team.
The Junior Varsity Kinston Football team faced South Central in their season opener, a game that Kinston Coach Corey Bryant described as a "tale of two halves."
