Lady Rams Improve to 3-0

SNOW HILL, N.C. — The Greene Central Lady Rams continued their winning streak, moving to 3-0 on the season with a decisive victory over Southside at home on Tuesday. The Lady Rams swept the match 3-0, demonstrating their dominance on the court.

In the first set, Greene Central set the tone with a 25-12 win, followed by a 25-17 victory in the second set, and a 25-19 triumph in the third.

Senior Breanna Howington led the Rams with 12 service points, while Makayla Memmelaar and Parker Toole contributed 8 kills each. Olivia Corbin was a defensive standout, leading the team with 14 digs.

Head coach Emily Lahr praised her team's performance but noted areas for improvement. "I think the girls played well, there is always room for improvement," Lahr said. "We came in pretty strong but I felt like we got comfortable with where we were at and didn't push ourselves, but once our girls got back in the hang of it they started to close out."

Lahr expressed confidence in her team's depth and versatility. "I think the girls have been very consistent. This is definitely a team I feel comfortable with moving into different positions," she said. "I got girls on the bench that are very capable of going on front row, and back row, passing, serving, effectively making kills from different positions. We definitely need fresh legs on the court every once in a while, but the girls have done well on the court as well."

The Lady Rams will look to continue their strong start as they move forward in the season, with a roster full of talent and a coach who believes in their potential.
