Greene Central High School's volleyball team clinched another conference win Tuesday night, defeating Southwest Edgecombe 3-1.

"These boys and South Lenoir soccer belong with the elite programs in this conference. We've taken the necessary steps to get here, and now it's up to the boys to believe what I know," Coach Jody Turner stated.
Leading the charge for Greene County was KaZarey Farrior, who contributed three touchdowns and racked up 150 yards of offense. DJ Green added another score and executed multiple two-point conversions to seal the win.
"I felt like all the boys came together and fought hard for our coach who passed away. I felt like we made him proud!" said Malik Fuller after the game. Fuller finished with 8 rushes for 283 yards and four touchdowns.

In a game that was as unpredictable as it was volatile, Greene Central faced off against Eastern Wayne in a home game that ended prematurely due to escalating on-field near brawls.
Richlands traveled to Deep Run, North Carolina, to face South Lenoir in a non-conference matchup, handing them a crushing 48-0 defeat.
The Kinston Vikings (2-1) entered their matchup against the Washington Pam Pack (0-2) sporting new gray jerseys and riding a two-game winning streak. However, early mistakes and missed opportunities led to a disappointing 12-7 loss.
The Patriots scored 11 touchdowns during the game while allowing only two. Eight of the touchdowns came on the ground, while the Patriot defense forced three turnovers for touchdowns.
The gym at Greene Central was filled with fans as they watched the Greene Central Lady Rams take on the Pam Pack from Washington. The Lady Rams dropped the first two sets but dug their heels into the ground to win the next two sets and force a fifth and deciding set.
On a Thursday night in Kinston, North Carolina, the North Lenoir Hawks JV football team soared to their first win of the season, defeating East Carteret in a game that showcased their prowess on both sides of the ball.
The Greene Central men's varsity soccer team lost a hard-fought game to D.H. Conley on Thursday evening. The loss sent the Rams to 4-2 on the season and was their second consecutive loss after starting the season 4-0.

The Hawks' overall record is impressive, now standing at 6-1 for the season, with a 1-0 record in conference play. Their latest victory came in a decisive 3-0 win, with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, and 25-18.
Running back DJ Cobb was unquestionably the star of the game. With 15 carries for an astonishing 200 yards and a crucial touchdown, Cobb's performance left a lasting impact. He displayed remarkable agility and strength, consistently evading multiple defenders to gain precious yards. As Cobb stated, "I was just trying to show my team you can do anything even if you're just one person."
Matt Howell of Jones Senior High School can possibly claim he is the only soccer coach in North Carolina to have never lost a game. Jones Senior, in the school's first-ever soccer game, defeated a Kinston High School team 9-0 tonight at Viking Stadium.
In a Week 3 face-off against Ayden-Grifton, Kinston High's standout running back, Jeremiah Hart, has been named our Male Athlete of the Week. His electrifying performance included 11 rushes for 155 yards, a rushing touchdown, and an eye-popping average of 14.1 yards per rush, playing a pivotal role in his team's success.
In standout performances that included 18 kills, 7 service points, and 22 digs across two games, Greene Central's Donley Phillips has been named our Female Athlete of the Week.
