Running back DJ Cobb was unquestionably the star of the game. With 15 carries for an astonishing 200 yards and a crucial touchdown, Cobb’s performance left a lasting impact. Matt Howell of Jones Senior High School can possibly claim he is the only soccer coach in North Carolina to have never lost a game. Jones Senior, in the school’s first-ever soccer game, defeated a Kinston High School team 9-0 tonight at Viking Stadium.

His electrifying performance included 11 rushes for 155 yards, a rushing touchdown, and an eye-popping average of 14.1 yards per rush, playing a pivotal role in his team’s success.
In standout performances that included 18 kills, 7 service points, and 22 digs across two games, Greene Central’s Donley Phillips has been named our Female Athlete of the Week.
North Lenoir’s soccer team clinched their fourth win of the season in a decisive 6-2 victory over South Central, elevating their record to 4-2. The Hawks showcased a balanced attack, with multiple players contributing to the scoreline.
While the 10-1 scoreline might suggest otherwise, the highlight of today’s South Lenoir at Ayden-Grifton soccer match was the exceptional goaltending from both teams.
After a long four-day wait, North Lenoir finally hosted CB Aycock on Tuesday, only to suffer a crushing 56-6 defeat. The loss drops the Hawks to 0-3 for the season, while CB Aycock improves to 3-0.
