In the doubles matches, North Lenoir maintained their momentum:

  1. Although Eastern Wayne’s Hunter Wolford (Sr.) and a teammate managed an 8-6 win against Casey Alston (Fr.) and Austin Williams (Jr.), the Hawks remained unfazed.

  2. Zachary Yarus (So.) and Josh Hardy (Sr.) clinched an 8-2 victory over Jose Lopez (Jr.) and Brandon Sutton (Jr., Eastern Wayne).

  3. Jack Jones (Jr.) and Maddox Smith (Fr.) made short work of Javaire Joseph (Fr.) and Julian Hernandez (Fr., Eastern Wayne), sealing an 8-0 win.

The Hawks now look forward to facing Clinton High School in the second round. The #4 seed Darkhorses, with a 9-2 record, will host North Lenoir next Tuesday at Clinton. Both teams have defeated Rosewood High School with a 9-0 score, so the upcoming match could be anyone’s game.
