With the 2026 fall sports season underway, here is a look at the current records for high school football, volleyball and boys soccer teams across Lenoir, Greene and Jones counties.

South Lenoir held off North Lenoir 14-12 in the 63rd Braggin Bowl, using a strong Thursday start and clutch defensive plays Monday to reclaim the trophy and improve to 2-0.
Wayne Christian fell 35-7 to Harrells Christian in Goldsboro after the Crusaders built a 28-0 halftime lead. Jamari Hill scored for the Eagles, who return Sept. 11 against Grace Christian.
Aiden Ramirez-Cruz scored three goals to lead Goldsboro past Sallie B Howard 4-1 in a weather-shortened soccer match. The Cougars led 4-0 at halftime in the first recorded meeting between the programs.
Greene Central turned early Goldsboro turnovers into a 43-0 first-quarter lead and finished with a 69-0 shutout. JoJo Sanders scored on offense and defense to help lead the Rams.
