Kinston hit the road Thursday for a four-team scrimmage at Princeton High School, spending most of the evening matched up against East Duplin. The Vikings also got in a brief set against Martin County, running five plays on offense and five on defense.

The Eastern Plains Conference held its first football media day Wednesday morning at Parker’s BBQ, as coaches and athletic directors from across the new 2A/3A league came together to finalize schedules and vote on preseason predictions.

At this year’s Three Rivers Conference media day — the first under the NCHSAA’s new 1A–8A alignment — coaches voted North Lenoir to finish seventh in the league.
