Full 2026 NCHSAA girls tennis playoff brackets: All 1A–8A East and West brackets (official PDF).

The 2026 NCHSAA girls tennis playoff brackets were released Friday, Oct. 9, setting the field for the women’s dual-team state championships across all eight classifications.

The official brackets above include every seed, first-round pairing and bye statewide. Jones Senior, Rosewood, Spring Creek, Goldsboro, Greene Central and C.B. Aycock are among the area teams in the field, with three of those teams receiving first-round byes.

Round dates vary by classification and bracket size. Teams with byes begin in a later round.

  • 1A: First round Oct. 14; second round Oct. 19; regional championships Oct. 21; state championship Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
  • 2A: First round Oct. 12; second round Oct. 14; third round Oct. 19; regional championships Oct. 21; state championship Oct. 30 at 12:30 p.m.
  • 3A: First round Oct. 12; second round Oct. 14; third round Oct. 19; fourth round Oct. 21; regional championships Oct. 27; state championship Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
  • 4A: First round Oct. 12; second round Oct. 14; third round Oct. 19; fourth round Oct. 21; regional championships Oct. 27; state championship Oct. 30 at 12:30 p.m.
  • 5A: First round Oct. 12; second round Oct. 14; third round Oct. 19; fourth round Oct. 21; regional championships Oct. 27; state championship Oct. 31 at 9 a.m.
  • 6A: First round Oct. 12; second round Oct. 14; third round Oct. 19; fourth round Oct. 21; regional championships Oct. 27; state championship Oct. 31 at 12:30 p.m.

East and West regional winners advance to the state championship in each classification. The higher seed hosts through the regional round under the NCHSAA dual-team tennis rules. Championship times are Eastern; confirm individual match times and any schedule changes with the schools before traveling.

Area teams: seeds, opponents and opening matches

1A East: Jones Senior heads to Hobgood Charter

No. 7 Jones Senior opens at No. 2 Hobgood Charter in the first round Oct. 14. The 1A bracket starts two days later than the other classifications.

2A East: Rosewood visits East Bladen

No. 10 Rosewood travels to No. 7 East Bladen for a first-round match Oct. 12. The winner advances to the second round Oct. 14.

3A East: Greene Central and Goldsboro earn byes; Spring Creek opens on the road

No. 2 Greene Central has a first-round bye and will host the winner of No. 15 Wallace-Rose Hill and No. 18 Louisburg Magnet in the second round Oct. 14.

No. 7 Goldsboro also receives a first-round bye. The Cougars will host No. 10 Northwood on Oct. 14; Northwood has a first-round bye as well.

No. 21 Spring Creek visits No. 12 Whiteville in the first round Oct. 12.

5A East: C.B. Aycock opens at home after a bye

No. 3 C.B. Aycock receives a first-round bye and will host the winner of No. 14 Southern Nash and No. 19 South Granville on Oct. 14.

These are dual-team playoff brackets. The individual tennis postseason is a separate competition. Exact starting times for the area matches were not listed in the released brackets.
