The Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots hosted the Liberty Christian Heat at Hodges Field on Friday night. The Patriots, celebrating their eight seniors on Senior Night, scored early and often en route to a 54-0 shutout against the Heat.

North Lenoir Sweeps South Lenoir in Rivalry Match, SL Raises Funds for Cancer Fighters

North Lenoir swept South Lenoir in a spirited matchup of long-time cross-county rivals Thursday night, winning all three sets to claim the match 3-0. The game, relocated to Lenoir Community College due to remodeling work on South Lenoir's bleachers, was about more than just volleyball — it was a night dedicated to raising funds in support of cancer fighters, and the Blue Devils made their community proud, bringing in more than $6,000.

NCHSAA RPI (SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL, FOOTBALL)

Playoff time is near and the NCHSAA uses the RPI ranking system to help determine the playoff seedings based off advanced statistical metrics. In most sports NCHSAA team sports, 62 teams in a classification earn a playoff spot (32 in the East, 32 in the West). The RPI is broken down in two sides with rankings for the East and rankings for the West. Below is the RPI currently for our teams in Soccer, Football, and Volleyball.

Greene Central Dominates EPC Tennis Tournament; Medlin Makes History

Greene Central High School's tennis team solidified its dominance in the Eastern Plains Conference (EPC) tournament Wednesday, sweeping the event’s finals in singles, doubles, and exhibition competitions. The Rams will send all six entries to the NCHSAA 2A East Regional Championships, set to be held at Greene Central’s Tennis Complex on Oct. 18-19.

North Lenoir Stuns Wallace-Rose Hill 18-15 in Homecoming Thriller

The North Lenoir Hawks (3-3) pulled off an exciting 18-15 victory over the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs (4-3) during their homecoming game in front of a packed crowd draped in green and black. The question going into the game, especially after last week’s win over Southwest Onslow, was whether the Hawks were ready to take the next step. The answer was a resounding yes.

LCC Announces Jorja Tuten as Next Head Volleyball Coach

Lenoir Community College is excited to announce that Jorja Tuten will take over as head volleyball coach at the conclusion of the 2024 season. Tuten has served as the assistant volleyball coach at LCC for the past two seasons. She is also the director of Carolina Performance, a volleyball club based in Kinston. Carolina Performance is a successful travel volleyball program for junior girls and boys, which recently completed its third season.
