Woodington Softball and Baseball teams remain undefeated
The Lady Raiders softball team extended their undefeated streak by crushing Rochelle 32-0 on April 3, 2023. Jersey Sasnett and Kylee Weston led the offensive charge for the Lady Raiders, both completing a cycle, which includes hitting a single, double, triple, and home run in a single game. Several other Lady Raiders contributed key hits to further expand their lead.
Weston also shined on the pitcher's mound, delivering a dominant performance by striking out numerous batters and allowing only one hit throughout the game.
The Lady Raiders will hit the road to face Jones Middle today, April 4, and wrap up their season at home against Frink tomorrow, April 5.
On the baseball diamond, Woodington Middle School's baseball team remains undefeated in conference play, following an impressive 11-0 victory over Rochelle on Monday. Braylon Canady pitched three innings, striking out five, walking three, and allowing no hits.
Woodington's leading hitters included:
Austin Clements- three-run home run, two singles, and recorded four RBIs
Reed Davis- triple, intentional walk, and scored three runs
Liam Barwick- single, walk, and scored two runs
Jacob Burkett- single
The Raiders will travel to face Jones Middle today, April 4, and conclude their season at home against Frink Middle on Wednesday, April 5.
