The Most Outstanding Players were awarded to Clemente Battle from Eastern Wayne and Taniyah Glaspie from Southern Wayne.

Listed below are the outstanding performers from the NNS Invitational:

MEN

Tony Stephens, North Lenoir- was phenomenal in the shotput and discus. The hawk took first place in both events with a 46-2 in the shotput and a 124-4 in the discus.

Ex'Zavion Croom, Kinston- This kid has a very bright future ahead of him. The Viking is only a freshman but made his mark on the invitational by winning the both the 100 and 200 while also medaling in the relays.

Clemente Battle, Eastern Wayne- Battle is a smooth and quick twitch athlete. Battle won the long jump and second in the triple jump. What is more impressive than Battle's field events is his performance in the 110 meter hurldes. Battle never was challenged in the hurdles or atleast we can say he made it look very easy.

Christian McLawhorn, Kinston- McLawhorn hit a zone and stayed in it. In the 1600m run, Mclawhorn has a smooth pace and coasted through the race taking first. McLawhorn also finished first in the 800m

William WIlder, Arendell Parrott Academy- This kid is in MIDDLE SCHOOL!! Wilder ran sub 12 minute in winning the two mile and he won the mile with a 5:13. This kid is going to be a good for a long time.

Detrick Williams, Greene Central- Long lanky, athletic, freshman performed very well at the invitational. Williams finished tied in first in the high jump but also dominated the 400 running at 52.3 in the finals.

Malachi Ramsey, North Lenoir- Not a suprise to me at all. Ramsey is one of the best athletes in North Lenoir. The Super sophmore killed the 300 hurdles and took home the gold.

Tyvell Foskey, Farmville Central- This Jaguar is quick and fast! Foskey only being in the 10th grade showed a lot of promise with a couple of second place finishes in the 100 and 200m dash.

Okie Edwards, Greene Central- Okie is a long, athletic typical prototype you need from a track sprinter. Sprinkle in his speed and heart, Edwards is only of the best upcoming sprinters in the east.

Desmond Cobb, Greene Central- Cobb is getting better and better in every track meet. The Ram was able to secure first place in the triple jump, jumpling in the mid 41s.

WOMEN

Marshaylah Sutton, Greene Central- Sutton was making things happen in the field events today. The Rams junior thrower dominated the shot put and the discus. Sutton has a very bright future in track and field.

Jy'Asha Cousins, Southern Wayne- Cousins absolutely crushed her competition. The Southern Wayne hurdler easy "Ran" the hurdles instead of jumping the hurdles. Cousins took home the gold in the 300m hurdles and the 100m hurdles.

Taniyah Glaspie, Southern Wayne - Taniyah Glaspie is a beast! Highly impressed with Glaspie's power, technique, and form. Glaspie won both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.

Marissa Doyle, North Lenoir- This freshman is going to be very good at distance running. She was very good today winning the 1600-meter run and finishing third in the 800-meter race.

Jameria Huling, Kinston- big-time distance runner. Huling broke the three minute mark in her gold medal performance in the 800-meter. Also won gold in the 4x800m relay.

Gianna Speight, Farmville Central- This young lady is special. Speight ran a 59 seconds in the 100 meter dash. Speight also picked up a second place in the 100 hurdles.

Arianah Davis, Farmville Central- More Jaguar speed! Davis is very quick and a key leg in the relay teams from Farmville Central. Her 100-meter dash was fast; even after finishing third in the 100 meters, Davis still ran 12.6.

Zimya Croom, Farmville Central- Croom is fun to watch. Another key leg for the Farmville Central Jaguars Croom ran a fantastic 100-meter final, finishing with a 12.62.
