Neuse News Sports Track Invitational
Neuse News Sports is holding its first-ever Track Invitational at Kinston High School today, starting at 1:00 p.m. Nine schools from the region will come together to compete in various track and field events, showcasing Eastern North Carolina superb Track and Field athletes..
The participating schools include Goldsboro, Greene Central, Eastern Wayne, Farmville, Kinston, North Lenoir, Southern Wayne, Wayne Christian Academy, and an unattached runner, William Wilder, from Parrott. The event will feature preliminaries in the 100-meter dash and 100/110-meter hurdles.
Some of the fastest names in the East are on the entry list, including Rahkeem Faison from Eastern Wayne, Jameer Flowers from Kinston, and Jon Willis from Greene Central. The ladies' division will be just as competitive, with Southern Wayne's Taniyah Glaspie, Farmville Central sprinter and jumper Zamia Croom, and others vying for top spots.
One of the most anticipated events of the day will be the relay races, as some of the fastest relay teams in the state will go head-to-head. Fans and spectators can expect to see incredible performances and fierce competition throughout the event.
In addition to the excitement of the races, awards will be given out to the Most Valuable Players (MVPs) in Track and Field, as well as the Most Outstanding Performer. These recognitions will serve to highlight the hard work, dedication, and exceptional skills of the participating athletes.
Bronze, silver, and gold medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in every event, recognizing their outstanding achievements. To ensure accuracy in the results, the event will utilize fully automated timing systems.
