Southside Seahawks Soar Over Jones Senior in Season Finale
In a season finale that left no room for doubt, the Southside Seahawks soared to a resounding 41-0 victory over the Jones Senior Trojans in Trenton, NC. Entering the game with records of 3-6 (3-1 in conference) and 0-9 (0-4 in conference) respectively, the Seahawks and Trojans had different stakes but the same desire for a win.
Southside wasted no time establishing their dominance, scoring on their first three possessions and never looking back. Their defense, equally formidable, added to the onslaught with a 47-yard interception returned for a touchdown.
The Seahawks' ground game was unstoppable, led by running back TeQuon Moore, who dazzled with a 35-yard touchdown run and a 47-yard pick-six. His backfield mate, Brian Carabali Salinas, was no slouch either, contributing two rushing touchdowns to the lopsided scoreline.
While the Trojans couldn't find the end zone, they did show glimpses of potential. Quarterback Jacob Robins spearheaded a few long drives, including one featuring a 28-yard rush that tantalizingly stopped short of a score.
After the game, Jones Senior's Coach Zach Sellers remained optimistic about the future. "I'm gonna get these guys in the weight room... we're gonna turn this thing around," he vowed. With a host of players returning next season, the Trojans are eager to make their presence felt in Jones County's evolving football scene.
