Rams smash the Panthers

Greene Central squared off with the North Pitt Panthers for the second time this week. The Rams would mercy-rule North Pitt in five innings. Greene Central would score a season-high 19 runs on 14 hits, to win 19-0.

Junior Braden Buress threw all five innings for the Rams while only giving up three hits with ten punchouts. Freshman Will Radford led the Rams with three RBIs on two hits.

Greene Central would start off the game by scoring three runs in the first. The Panthers pitching looked better in the second without giving up a run. The Rams would come back in the 3rd and 4th innings with back-to-back eight runs.

Greene Central was able to bring six different guys off the bench. “It's good for them, with no JV team, and with many freshmen, it's hard on them. It makes it seem like they are on the bench a lot”. Ben Brann, Head Coach of the Greene Central Rams.

Greene Central (4-3) will travel to Chocowinity to face the Southside Seahawks (4-2) on Friday at 5pm.
