Northside Shuts Out Jones Sr.
TRENTON—In a dominant display, Northside shut out Jones Sr. with a final score of 40-0 in their conference matchup. Northside came into the game with a record of (5-2, 2-0), aiming to maintain their undefeated streak in conference play, while Jones Sr. entered the contest with a record of (0-7, 0-2), hoping to secure their first win of the season.
Northside scored on their first offensive snap with a 59-yard touchdown by running back Jamie Corprew. Corprew finished the game with 111 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Northside had a few big chunk plays that hurt Jones Sr. throughout the matchup. The Trojan defense played well at containing the big chunk plays after the first score. Jones Sr. couldn't get the offense rolling throughout the game as they have a handful of injuries on that side of the ball.
Coach Sellers, after the game, said, "We've had to switch a few things up... have a young team, and they're gonna keep getting better and move forward." Jones Senior has had to rely on some young guys to fill in the gaps. The future of Jones Sr. football does look bright with some pieces they have lined up.
Top Performers:
Northside RB #8 Jamie Corprew: 111 Rushing yards, 3 touchdowns
Northside RB #32 Zanek McCloud: 56 Rushing yards, 1 touchdown
