North Lenoir JV Falls to Wallace-Rose Hill, 48-6

LAGRANGE, N.C. — The North Lenoir JV Hawks (1-5) suffered a lopsided 48-6 defeat against the JV Bulldogs of Wallace-Rose Hill on Thursday night. They struggled particularly in the first half, giving up 42 points, including a safety for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs racked up 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the opening half alone.

Howevver, the second half told a different story for the Hawks. Sophomore Braxton Myers shone, rushing for a 32-yard touchdown that finally put the Hawks on the scoreboard. Myers ended the game with 87 rushing yards. "He is special because he is so quick, and it doesn't take much for him," Head Coach Anthony Loftin said.

Defensively, the Hawks were much improved in the second half, holding the Bulldogs to just 58 yards of total offense. North Lenoir only allowed one touchdown—a 32-yard rush—in the second half.

"We played with more energy, and I am proud of them. They never gave up. This game took a lot out of us; we had a lot of guys get injured, so let's hope and pray they are OK," Loftin added.

Up next, the North Lenoir JV Hawks will travel to Beulaville next Thursday to square off against the East Duplin JV Panthers (4-2).
