Myers Leads Hawks to Victory Over Blue Devils in JV Showdown
The North Lenoir JV Hawks hosted the JV Blue Devils of South Lenoir on Thursday evening. The Hawks were victorious in the cross-county rivalry game by a final score of 28-2. The Blue Devils were able to move the ball during the matchup but were held out of the endzone by the stingy Hawks defense.
On the other side of the ball, the Hawks were led by Sophomore Braxton Myers (#2). Myers found the endzone four times in the contest. Myers had 3 rushing touchdowns ssa and 1 receiving touchdown. Myers’s rushing touchdowns came from 26, 25 and 12 yards.
The receiving touchdown that Myer’s caught was 27 yards and thrown by #10 Taevion Collier. The two points that Blue Devils scored came from a safety. With the win, the Hawks improved to 2-8 on the season. They will travel to Kinston next Thursday to take on the Vikings. The loss drops the Blue Devils to a final 2-6 as this will be their last game of their season.
