Lenoir Community College Secures First Road Win, Moves to 3-1 on the Season

Lenoir Community College continued its strong start to the season, picking up a 10-3 road win over Peace JV on Saturday. The victory marks the Lancers' first road win of the season as they improve to 3-1 heading into a busy week.

LCC found itself trailing early after Peace JV plated three runs through the first three innings. The Lancers battled back to tie the game in the sixth before breaking it open in the seventh, scoring four runs to take control. Danny Staley delivered a key two-run double, while Andres Cortes added an RBI groundout.

On the mound, Cole Kuklick was lights out in relief, tossing three scoreless innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win. Starter Dalen Boykin worked four innings, striking out five while allowing three runs. Nick Widener closed things out with two shutout frames.

At the plate, Staley, Aiden Taylor, and Brennan Moran each collected two hits, while Schumata Brown showed patience, drawing three walks. LCC worked 10 walks as a team and stole five bases, led by Hunter Tyndall, Brown, and Staley, who each swiped two.

The Lancers will look to build on their early success with two more road games this week:

  • Tuesday at Methodist JV (Fayetteville) – 4:00 PM

  • Wednesday at NC Wesleyan JV – 2:00 PM
