Frink takes down the Cougars 15-5 in baseball

Contentnea-Savannah Cougars couldn't recover from an early deficit, ultimately suffering a 15-5 defeat at the hands of Frink Middle School on Thursday. Frink Middle School's offense took off from the start, scoring two runs on Daniel Boyette's first-inning single and Israel Almanza going 4-4 at the plate..

Throughout the game, the Cougars struggled to contain Frink Middle School's high-powered offense, which racked up 15 runs. CSS Cougars managed to put up four runs in the fifth inning, spurred by singles from Andrew Hone and Julian Veal.

The Cavaliers added six runs to their tally in the fourth inning. On the mound, Daniel Boyette led Frink Middle School, pitching five innings and allowing zero hits and three runs while striking out nine batters.

Trent Taylor started the game for the CSS Cougars, allowing 14 hits and 12 runs over four innings, with six strikeouts and one walk. Luke Rogers contributed one inning of relief from the bullpen.

Hone and Veal led the Cougars with one hit each.

The Cavaliers offense boasted 16 hits on the night and had the full lineup hitting the ball.

“The Cavs' bats were on fire, and their pitching was lights out,” coach Chad Kearney said. “The team displayed quality at-bats and confidence in their swings.”
