Frink Cavaliers Cruise Past Jones, Move to 5-5 With Balanced Attack
he Frink Cavaliers delivered one of their most complete performances of the season Thursday evening, defeating Jones Middle 11-1 to move to 5-5 on the year.
Mason Murphy set the tone early with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, racking up two doubles, a single, and three stolen bases. His leadoff double in the first inning sparked a four-run frame, and he continued to pressure the defense each time he stepped in the box.
Jacob Jones handled business on both ends. On the mound, he earned the win after tossing five innings of two-hit ball, allowing just one earned run while striking out six. He also collected three hits and a stolen base at the plate.
Jesus Aguilar-Rubio added an RBI double in the second inning, while Braxton Skoczylas contributed an RBI single as part of Frink’s first-inning surge. The Cavaliers capitalized on timely hits and defensive miscues to put the game out of reach early.
Frink’s defense held firm throughout, including a key double play in the third and steady infield work that kept Jones Middle off balance.
The Cavaliers are scheduled to travel to Parrott Academy on April 16 before closing out the season with home games against CSS Middle and Jones Middle.
