Arendell Parrott Academy split road contest with Rocky Mount Academy
Boys Team: 50-45 Win
The Patriots played in an exciting game on the road Tuesday evening winning a close hard-fought contest 50-45. Freshman sensation Chase Jones (#11) led the Patriots for the second consecutive game in scoring. Jones finished with 14 points, 6 assists and 8 rebounds in the win. The Patriots would see a 12-point lead dwindle down to a 1-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Jones hit a three pointer to take the lead, and the Patriots never looked back. Head Coach Clay Harrell was ecstatic with his teams performance saying:
“Big win for us. We stayed the course and trusted our process. We didn’t lose our composure as their run happened”. Fletcher Jones (#5) chipped in the scoring with 8 points while also gathering 7 rebounds and 3 huge blocks. Giorgio Parravinci (#0) had 9 points and 7 rebounds in the victory for the Patriots.
Girls Team: 52-14 Loss
The Lady Patriots, led by Head Coach Henry Piner, found it difficult to score during the contest. The Eagles led 34-6 at halftime and were able to extend their lead and secure the 52-14 victory. Sydney Myers (#15) and CJ Blackwelder (#13) led the Lady Patriots with 4 points each.
“We didn’t finish the first half strong and could never dig ourselves out of that early hole. Moving forward, we need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball”, Coach Piner said. This is a young team with a lot of underclassmen that will look to continue their growth each week.

Both teams will be back in action on this Thursday as they will host Wayne Christian at home. One teamwill be looking to continue their impressive play while the other will be looking
