LCC Defeats Rival Pitt, 58-57
Many predicted that Pitt Community College would triumph in the cross-town rivalry between Lenoir Community College and Pitt Community, but the Lancers prevented that from happening with a 58-57 win.
The Lancers led 33–31 at the half thanks to the 16 points that Trevion Lewis and Aiden Eller combined to score in the first half.The lancers turned the ball over on their few possessions before the half ended, and as a result, they were only ahead by two points at halftime.
The style of play was basket for basket and back and forth. With their unrelenting defense, the lancers forced a few turnovers to open the second half. The lancers would go on a 10-point, two-point run to force the Bulldogs to call a timeout.
The lancers would go on to take a 58-57 win in the nail biter coming from Dashaun Hooker with the game winning free throw with 1.6 seconds left on the game clock. Aiden Eller's 15 points led the Lancers, along with Tre Lewis and Ray Mitchell contributing 12 points each. Lancer improve to 6-2 on the season.
The Lenoir community college lancers will be back in action on December 6th to face SandHills Community College from Pinehurst NC @ 6:00 PM on Bobby Dawson Court.
