Lancers fall in a tight match with Wake Tech

The Lenoir Community College Lancers Volleyball team faced a challenging match against Wake Technical Community College (WTCC) last night, ultimately falling in four sets with scores of 25-21, 21-25, 21-25, and 23-25.

Despite the loss, the Lancers showcased their skills and determination. Mikalah Dale was a standout player, contributing 28 digs, 2 serving aces, and 7 points. Paytyn Jones led the offensive attacks with 18 kills and an impressive hitting percentage of .389. Mckenzee Moore added 8 kills, followed by Hayli Verme with 6 kills.

In the serving department, both Mckenzee Moore and Marley Carter stood out with 10 serving points each. The Lancers’ effort was commendable, but they experienced a tough loss. They will face Wake Tech again soon in a Conference Match, with eyes set on redemption.

The Lancers have dropped their last two matches, including this game, but look to bounce back against Bryant & Stratton College this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at home.

Special recognition goes to Student Services for their exceptional work at the concessions. “Ya’ll killed it! High-fives!” said LCC Athletic Director Shelly Barnes, who wanted to give special recognition. Thanks were also extended to Lauren Gaither for being the game administrator, and to Bobby and Susan Nobles, Kathyrn Waits, and Rick Whaley for working the scores table.
