Kinston Runs Past West Carteret

KINSTON, NC – In a show of formidable strength and teamwork, the Kinston Vikings extended their winning streak to five with a convincing 78-54 victory over West Carteret. This win not only solidifies the Vikings’ impressive season record of 7-2 but also continues their historical dominance over West Carteret, boasting an undefeated streak dating back to 2006.

The Vikings, under the guidance of Coach Perry Tyndall, displayed an impressive offensive and defensive coordination right from the start. Consistently scoring at least 18 points in every quarter, the team’s performance was a testament to their hard work and strategy. “Defensively, we challenged them to fly around tonight and push the pace more, and they answered the challenge,” Coach Tyndall remarked post-game. His pride in the team’s response to this challenge was evident, highlighting their adaptability and determination.

The game was also a platform for the emerging talent within the team. Freshman duo Jamarion Washington and Keyshawn Herring led the scoring with 14 points each, demonstrating the depth and future potential of the Vikings. Senior point guard Khalil Sanders and Tyreek Copper contributed significantly, scoring 13 and 10 points respectively, showcasing the balanced offensive capabilities of the team.

While this victory may simply be another notch in the win column for the Vikings, it also represents another instance where we’ve witnessed the team’s continuous improvement and development throughout the early season.
