Bethel Christian Advances to Round 3

Bethel Christian Academy Trojans staged a late-game comeback to secure a hard-fought 10-6 victory against Faith Christian Eagles on Tuesday. Throughout the game, both teams’ pitching staffs faced consistent pressure, as runners often found themselves on base. The Trojans’ offense was ignited in the third inning when Zack Harrison singled on the first pitch of his at-bat, driving in a run.

Bethel managed to level the score at 3-3 in the top of the fifth inning, as Cooper Williams singled on a 1-0 count, scoring another run. Cooper Williams also started the game for the Trojans, giving up three runs on five hits over six innings, while striking out nine.

Jamey Williams emerged as the winning pitcher for the Trojans, allowing three runs on one hit and striking out four in three innings of work. Jonathan White contributed one inning of relief from the bullpen.

The Trojans tallied eight hits in total, with Mckinnon Wade and Cooper Williams leading the charge with two hits each. A flawless field performance saw the Trojans commit no errors, with Zack Harrison responsible for 15 of the team’s fielding chances.

Looking ahead, Bethel Christian Academy will face Wilmington Christian Academy in the state semifinals on Friday, May 12th, at 4:30 pm. The Trojans will be seeking redemption after their earlier 10-0 loss to Wilmington this season.
