Hawks Handle Stallions 6-3 in the Swamp

For the second consecutive Friday, the Southwest Onslow Stallions have traveled to Lenoir County for a conference matchup on the diamond. And for the second consecutive Friday, the Stallions lost. This recent loss came to the surging North Lenoir Hawks.
Hawks head coach Cam Sherrer sent Jackson Jenkins to the mound for the start. Jenkins pitched the full game. Jackson had another impressive performance giving up 5 hits, 3 runs and 12 strikeouts. Offensively, Jenkins also had 1 hit and scored 1 run.
“Every time he steps on that mound, we know we’ve got a chance to go out and get the win”, Coach Cameron Sherrer said about his starter Jenkins
Petey Wiggins got the Hawks on the board with a 2 RBI single in the first inning. The Hawks collectively had nine hits in the contest. Blake Crawford and Bryce Arnette both had two hits each.
“Executed team baseball”, is what Coach Sherrer accredits to the success for his team tonight.
The win improves the Hawks record to 5-1 and 2-0 in the conference. The Hawks have two scheduled games next week. They will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill on Tuesday, and then host county rival, South Lenoir next Friday in The Swamp.
