The 5th Annual Jessica Ramsey Memorial Tournament Set for August 10 at Lenoir Community College


KINSTON, N.C. — Lenoir Community College will host the 5th Annual Jessica Ramsey Memorial Tournament on August 10, 2024, bringing together eight high school teams for a day of competitive scrimmage action. The event, which honors the memory of Jessica Ramsey, a beloved member of the community, will begin at 9 a.m., with doors opening at 8 a.m.

The participating teams include Perquimans High School, South Johnston High School, Neuse Charter High School, South Lenoir High School, Arendell Parrott Academy, Rosewood High School, Southern Wayne High School, and Harnett Central High School. These teams will be divided into two pools, with Pool 1 featuring Perquimans, Neuse Charter, Arendell Parrott Academy, and Southern Wayne, while Pool 2 includes South Johnston, South Lenoir, Rosewood, and Harnett Central. The winners of each pool will compete in the championship game.

An entry fee of $7 will be charged for the tournament, with children 10 and under admitted free. In addition to the on-court action, attendees can support the Jessica Ramsey Memorial Scholarship through the purchase of tournament T-shirts and concessions. However, coolers will not be permitted inside the student center.

This event serves as a vital fundraiser for the scholarship in Jessica Ramsey's name, ensuring her legacy continues to impact the lives of young students.
