Breaking News: South Lenoir Introduces New Men’s Head Basketball Coach!
DEEP RUN—South Lenoir High School is excited to announce the hiring of Thomas Earp as the new varsity boys basketball coach. Earp is no stranger to the Blue Devils, having started his teaching career at South Lenoir and serving as an assistant coach under Jeremy Barnette.
After earning his degree from East Carolina University (ECU), Earp initially joined South Lenoir High School, contributing to the basketball program before heading to Carolina Beach. There, he taught at Eugene Ashley High School for some time before making his way back to Duplin County to pursue his passion for coaching.
Earp's recent experience as the Head Coach for Boys Basketball at Beulaville Elementary (Middle School Coach) over the past three years has further prepared him for this new challenge. His commitment to education and athletics makes him an ideal fit for the program.
"I'm going full circle to the place that first gave me a job," Earp shared.
Earp also added a bold statement, reflecting his determination and enthusiasm for the upcoming season: "You tell them I'm coming and Blue Devil Hell is coming with me!"
The South Lenoir community welcomes Coach Earp and looks forward to a successful season under his leadership.
