2A NCHSAA 3rd Round Matchups and Predictions

The #2 seed Greene Central is set to face off against the #26 seed Farmville Central. Despite the Rams defeating the Jaguars twice this season, one can't overlook Farmville's run and the rivalry. Their record belies their strength, with their losses coming exclusively against other playoff teams. Led by Ward Evans, the Jaguars are poised to put up a fight. Here's what our staff thinks about this matchup:

Chance Scott: "GC wins 4-3. The Rams hate the Jags and the Jags hate the Rams. GC is one of the hottest teams in the state."

Kymonte Roberts: "Jags come to Greene County and defeat a hot Greene Central and also their crosstown rival in an extra inning match 4-3."

Trey Scott: "Greene Central locks it down at home in a 5-0 win. The Rams are locked in on defense right now."

The #3 seed South Granville is going up against the #22 seed South Lenoir. South Granville, riding a fourteen-game winning streak, is a strong team. However, the Blue Devils are equally talented and ready to prove their mettle in the playoffs. Here are our predictions:

Chance Scott: "SL win 6-1. I doubted this team but I will not make the same mistake. SL has a major point to prove to the world."

Kymonte Roberts: "SL wins 6-3. The Blue Devils have been a team that was up and down the whole year. They are trying to make a statement with this run this year."

Trey Scott: "SL wins thriller 4-2. I just believe the talent in Eastern North Carolina is different. South Lenoir has the dogs to make a lot of noise in the playoffs."

Finally, we have the #4 seed North Lenoir going up against the #21 seed Camden County. Both teams are coming into this game on four-game winning streaks, with North Lenoir enjoying home field advantage in "The Swamp".

Chance Scott: "NL wins 5-2. The Hawks bounce back after a scary win in round 2."
