Maja Brown stays hot for the Wingmen in the 4-1 win over River City

The Kinston Wingmen continue their impressive run, securing their sixth win in the last eight games. The Wingmen triumphed over the River City Skippers with a 4-1 victory, pushing their overall record to 12-10.

Wingmen's Maja Brown has been ripping the ball lately with his four-game hitting streak going 2-4 at the plate and has collected eight hits in the past four games.

The Skippers started strong in the first inning when Drew Nagel singled on a 3-2 count, bringing in one run. However, the Wingmen took control in the third inning. Carter Starkweather tripled on a 2-2 count, driving in two runs, followed by Jacob Albarado grounding out to score another, giving the Wingmen a lead they would not relinquish.

Kinston all-star pitcher Brandon Warren was credited with the victory. He allowed one run on four hits over two innings, walking one. Landon Smith, Thomas Hill, and Dawson Ables all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Ables recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Wingmen.

Wagner took the loss for the Skippers, lasting eight innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three.

The Wingmen collected six hits on the day. Caleb Elias and Maja Brown each collected multiple hits for the Wingmen. Brown and Elias each managed two hits to lead the Wingmen. The Wingmen didn't commit a single error in the field. Wade Jarman had the most chances in the field with five.

Nagel went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Skippers in hits. The Skippers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Colby Ott made the most plays with six.

The Wingmen are set to play tonight at Lenoir Community College against the Brunswick Surfin’ Turfs. The team hopes to continue their winning momentum and further improve their season record.
