Hawks dominate James Kenan 7-0

The North Lenoir Hawks (8-2) showcased their all-around strength in a commanding 7-0 shutout victory against James Kenan (4-6) on Tuesday. The Hawks shined in every aspect of the game, from pitching and hitting to defense.

In the second inning, North Lenoir's offense ignited when Jacob Suggs hit an RBI single. The Hawks continued their offensive onslaught in the fifth inning, scoring four runs. Tyler Sears reached first base on a ground ball single before Blake Crawford followed with a stand-up double, advancing Sears to third. Jackson Jenkins then drove in both runners with a line drive to right field.

Jenkins not only delivered at the plate but also excelled on the mound, earning the win for North Lenoir. Over six innings, he allowed just one hit and no runs while striking out nine and walking one. Sasser contributed an inning of relief from the bullpen.

Blake Crawford further bolstered the Hawks' offense with a home run in the fourth inning, his fourth of the season in just ten games. Crawford credited his success to his approach at the plate:

"I'm just relaxed at the plate, waiting for a good pitch to hit backside. A lot of my homeruns are to the backside or centerfield. I am just staying through the field in my home runs."

Key contributors on offense included Luke Cannon with three hits, Crawford going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Suggs finishing 3-for-3 with two RBIs. North Lenoir's defense was equally impressive, committing no errors throughout the game.

Coach Jackson Massey praised the team's performance, saying, "We are clicking at the right time. We have a lot of games left, but we are playing all three phases of the game really well these last couple of weeks. Pitching, defense, and hitting are all coming together. We are getting some timely hits; I am super proud of the guys."

The Hawks will look to continue their momentum on Thursday when they face off against Wallace-Rose Hill High School.
