SNOW HILL – Greene County Middle School basketball made a statement on Tuesday night, with both the girls’ and boys’ teams securing conference championships at Greene Central High School. The Rams showcased their dominance, capping off stellar seasons with decisive victories.

Lady Rams Take Control Early

The Greene County girls set the tone in the opening game, racing out to a commanding 17-2 halftime lead against Chicod Middle. Their defensive intensity and balanced scoring paved the way to a 27-4 championship victory, ending Chicod’s impressive 10-1 season.

The Lady Rams (14-2, 12-1 conference) saw key contributions across the board. Jamaya West led the charge with seven points, while QuaViyah Smith added six. Laila McKesson chipped in five, and Chelsea Wilkes added four. India Speight connected from beyond the arc, and Harmony Cordon anchored the paint with crucial rebounds and two points.

With depth and defensive pressure fueling their run, Greene County controlled the tempo and never let Chicod find a rhythm, bringing home a well-earned championship trophy.

Dildy’s Dominance Powers Boys’ Victory

In the nightcap, the Rams boys followed suit with a dominant 49-34 win over Welcome Middle (10-3). Jahmez Dildy put on a scoring clinic, dropping 26 points to lead the way. Nathan Ross provided a strong second scoring option with 11 points, while Greene County’s depth and defensive execution kept Welcome at bay.

The Rams boys matched the girls' final record, finishing the season 14-2 overall and 12-1 in conference play. The championship victory was the culmination of a season filled with teamwork, perseverance, and standout performances.
