Greene Central Dominates At The Plate and On The Mound

The Greene Central Varsity Rams continued their impressive form with a resounding 15-2 victory over SouthWest Edgecombe, marking their fourth consecutive win and solidifying their dominance with 12 wins in their last 13 matchups since 2010. Braden Burress led the charge with his first homer of the season, signaling a key moment in the Rams' offensive rally.

The pitching prowess of Austin Hardy was on full display as he amassed 14 strikeouts, pushing his remarkable season total to 48 out of 60 batters faced. His performance was a testament to his command and the effective execution of his pitches throughout the game.

Hardy, reflecting on his exceptional outing, said, "I threw the ball well, I had command of my pitches, I feel like I did good tonight."

Contributing significantly to the Rams' offensive success was the slew of Rams hitters. Burress, Will Radford, Easton Creech and Jordan Scott all tallied three hits each. This spike in batting performance comes the Rams recent practices focusing on squaring the ball up. Coach Ben Brann summed it up with one remarking, "At practice, we've been trying to hit the ball hard, not caring where it goes, trying to find the barrel to the bat, and it's paying off."

The team's head coach also shared insights into their recent approach, "All of last week we were getting hits but struggling to find barrels. We've been working on making hard contact, focusing on the process rather than the outcome, and today it really showed with our performance at the plate."

With this win, Greene Central looks to carry their momentum forward. They faceoff against Southwest Edgecombe again this upcoming thursday.

The win was Greene Central eighth win in a row but most importantly, this win is how Rams baseball is suppose to be played.
