Frink Shuts Out Jones Middle, Advances to 2-0
Frink's football team traveled across the county line to face the Trojans of Jones Middle on last Tuesday. After a slow start, Frink secured a 30-0 victory over Jones.
Several players stood out on offense. Bryson James initiated the scoring, spinning and juking his way to a 45-yard touchdown run. He was followed by Amare Farrow, who dashed for a 55-yard touchdown. Donovan Ingram rounded off the scoring with two touchdowns; the first came on a 35-yard run, and the second came from a screen pass by QB Daniel Boyette for a 65-yard touchdown. The offense was in top form, scoring on every possession.
On the defensive side, Landon Morgan-Sutton, DaVyon Sutton, JeMir Pollock, Jamarcus Robinson, Lincoln Faulkner, and Kipton Saunders all had commendable performances. Je'Mir Pollock snagged a crucial interception as Jones advanced down the field. Landon Morgan-Sutton, Lincoln Faulkner, and DaVyon Sutton contributed multiple tackles for loss. Jamarcus Robinson and Josh Graves effectively contained the Trojans' offense.
Coach Smith of Frink remarked, "Things started off a bit slower than I would have liked. Once the momentum picked up, I believe we played a solid game, although there's room for improvement. I'd like to see more physicality from my players, which is something I plan to focus on next week. It's a coach's dream to have a group of coachable players, and that's precisely what we have this year. I couldn't be more proud of their hard work, and it's evident on the field."
Frink now stands at 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They will host Rochelle next Thursday in another conference matchup.
