Jones Senior’s Payten Plyler earns this week’s Female Athlete of the Week after an impressive offensive performance in two games for the Trojans. The senior showcased her power at the plate, hitting .625 over the two-game stretch against North Johnston and Bethel Christian Academy, tallying five hits, five RBIs, and two home runs.
In a high-scoring 30-20 win over North Johnston, Plyler went 3-for-5 with four plate appearances, three hits, two RBIs, and a home run. She followed that up with another strong outing in a 7-20 loss to Bethel Christian, going 2-for-3with two runs scored and three RBIs, including her second home run of the week.
On the season, Plyler is batting .625 with six runs scored, five hits, five RBIs, one double, and two home runs. Her leadership and consistency at the plate continue to make her a key piece for Jones Senior as they push forward in their season.
