Blue Devils Turn Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness Tonight in Deep Run

As South Lenoir prepares to face off against conference opponent Wallace Rose Hill tonight, the focus of the game extends far beyond the traditional conference game. In collaboration with their coach, Madison Harvey, the South Lenoir volleyball team is dedicating the evening to Mrs. JoElla Wooten, a local community member courageously battling breast cancer.

"Pink everything!" announced Coach Madison Harvey, who has organized a series of events to rally support for Mrs. Wooten. Fans attending the game can look forward to a 50/50 raffle and the auctioning off of various gift baskets. "All proceeds will go to Mrs. JoElla in her fight against breast cancer," Harvey added.

South Lenoir's volleyball team is deeply rooted in community service, and Harvey acknowledges the significance of tonight's game within the broader scope of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"We have so many community members that have been affected by cancer in some way," she noted. "With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we make it our mission to support someone in our community personally affected by breast cancer. We love the support from our community, and the best way to get support is to give support."

Tonight’s match promises to be more than just a showdown between talented athletes; it serves as a poignant reminder of the impact a community can make when united for a good cause. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink and partake in the various fundraisers, contributing to what aims to be a deeply meaningful night for all involved.

As both teams take to the court, the real victory will lie in the collective effort to make a difference in Mrs. Wooten's life and the lives of all those battling breast cancer. Whether you come for the sport, stay for the community, or contribute to the cause, tonight support is the most important part of the event.

Don't miss the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than volleyball. The JV game kicks off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity matchup. Every ticket purchased is a step toward victory in more ways than one.
