Trojans Dominate Warriors 54-5, Bounce Back with Strong Homecoming Win
The Bethel Christian Academy Trojans faced off against the New Life Christian Academy Warriors on Friday night in Kinston, securing a dominant 54-5 victory. The Trojans came out strong, starting the game with a 20-0 run. They allowed just five points in the first quarter and didn’t surrender another point for the rest of the game. The win came during homecoming festivities, marking a strong bounce-back performance after a tough 69-31 loss to Arendell Parrott Academy the night before.
Trojans head coach Ashley Stroud was pleased with his team's effort in the win. "They played for each other tonight, brought intensity, and just got the job done. I’m so proud of them," Stroud said after the game.
Offensively, #23 Jamey Williams led the charge, scoring a team-high 12 points. Williams not only topped the scoring but also played a key role in facilitating the offense for his teammates. "I’m just happy I could help my team win, and hopefully this game will turn our season around," Williams shared.
Senior guard #3 Asher Strickland also reached double digits, contributing 10 points to the win.
This victory snapped a four-game losing streak for the Trojans, bringing their season record to 5-9. The Trojans will be back in action next Tuesday as they host Scotland Christian Academy, a team they previously lost to 67-61 earlier this season.
