DEEP RUN, N.C. — The Paul T. Mills Memorial Invitational hosted by South Lenoir High School delivered an exciting day of high school wrestling, featuring top talent from across the state. Swansboro High School dominated the tournament, finishing first with 278.5 points, while host South Lenoir placed a strong third with 119.5 points.

South Lenoir’s Standouts
South Lenoir showcased their wrestling prowess with several top finishes and two standout performances earning the tournament’s most prestigious awards.
Bladen Davis (132 lbs) took home the Paul T. Mills Jr. Award for the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler in the lighter weight classes (106–144 lbs). Davis dominated his bracket, winning all his matches by fall, including a 58-second pin in the championship match.
Hayden Tyndall (157 lbs) earned the Jacob Butler Award for the most outstanding wrestler in the upper weight classes (150–285 lbs). Tyndall won all his matches, including a technical fall and a decisive pin in the finals.

113 lbs: Joseph Maples placed 3rd, scoring 16.0 team points.
120 lbs: John Jones placed 3rd, scoring 14.0 team points.
126 lbs: Angel Crespo placed 3rd, scoring 16.0 team points.
132 lbs: Bladen Davis placed 1st, scoring 24.0 team points.
157 lbs: Hayden Tyndall placed 1st, scoring 23.5 team points.
165 lbs: Brayden Burd placed 3rd, scoring 13.0 team points.
175 lbs: Connor Heath placed 3rd, scoring 13.0 team points.
While Davis and Tyndall led the way, other South Lenoir wrestlers also had strong showings, including Maples, Crespo, and Jones, who all secured third-place finishes with impressive victories in their respective consolation matches.
