Patriots Rally to Edge Out Warriors 7-6

Patriots Rally to Edge Out Warriors 7-6

In a closely contested game at Maddux Field, the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots overcame a three-run deficit to defeat the Fayetteville Christian Warriors 7-6. The Patriots were down 5-2 after four innings but mounted a comeback in the latter part of the game.

Key to the Patriots' rally was pinch hitter Jaylen Solomon, who, with two outs in the fifth inning, hit a single that drove in two runs. This sparked the Patriots' offense, leading them to score three more runs in the sixth inning to take a 7-6 lead.

In a crucial defensive play in the top of the seventh inning, with Warriors' runners on first and second, Jojo Ferebee, who had just replaced Cade Mixon on the mound, gave up a single. However, a strong throw from Jarrett Mooring to home plate resulted in a double play that ended the game, preserving the Patriots' one-run lead.

Starting pitcher Cole Watson and reliever Cade Mixon contributed significantly on the mound, with Mixon striking out nine batters. Six Patriots players recorded hits in the game, with Caleb Watson, Mixon, and Solomon each contributing two RBIs. Watson's two RBIs in the sixth inning were crucial for the Patriots' win.

Following this victory, which improved their season record to 5-1, the Patriots are set to host Eastern Wayne in their next game. Head Coach Rob Kravitz commended the team for their persistence and ability to come back from behind.
