North Carolina Wins 2024 Little League Softball World Series; Local Athlete Kenzie Carson Shines

North Carolina (Pitt County Girl’s Softball Little League) has completed the ultimate challenge by sweeping through the 2024 Little League Softball World Series and winning the tournament. Since the tournament began in 1974, this is the third time North Carolina has won (2015 Rowan Little League, 2019 Rowan Little League).

One of the Neuse News Sports area athletes, Kenzie Carson, was part of the championship run. Carson attends Frink Middle School in La Grange. She had 12 plate appearances and batted .545 with six hits, one double, one triple, six RBIs, and four runs scored. She also pitched in two games, throwing 7.0 innings, allowing only three hits, striking out 16 of the 24 batters she faced, and not giving up a single run or walking a single batter.

1st Round: North Carolina defeated Asia-Pacific 10-0
2nd Round: North Carolina defeated Europe-Africa 16-0
3rd Round: North Carolina defeated New England 16-0
4th Round: North Carolina Defeated Mid-Atlantic 1-0
5th Round: North Carolina defeated Southwest 1-0
