NNS Football Recap
(4-2.2-0) Kinston 52 East Duplin 22
The Vikings were rolling from the very first play of the game with Alex Moore's 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Kinston was firing on all cylinders and looked their best all season as they improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in East Central Conference play for the first time ever.
(2-3, 1-0) North Lenoir 20 (1-5) Southwest Onslow 15
The Braxton Loftin-Myers and Malik Fuller combo is finally coming around. The Hawks impressively went down to Onslow County and stumped the SWO Stallions, picking up back-to-back wins and gaining major momentum. Malik Fuller’s two touchdowns were huge for the Hawks, and it’s great to see Fuller in the end zone.
(4-2) Wallace Rose Hill 82 (0-5) South Lenoir 0
Things got out of hand early. Wallace is a state championship-caliber team, and it showed. The Blue Devils gave up 365 rushing yards on 21 carries. Wallace scores 10 touchdowns. The halftime score was 57-0—tough times for the Blue Devils.
(4-2, 1-1) Southwest Edgecombe 37 (3-3, 0-2) Greene Central 22
The Rams' rollercoaster of a season continues. After winning their first three games, the Rams have dropped the last three. In each game, they had their chances but just couldn't pull it together. Starting 0-2 in conference play is not how Greene Central wanted to kick off conference action, especially with tough battles ahead.
