NNS Female Athlete of the Week
Alyssa Hatcher, a Junior at North Lenoir High School, has been named the Neuse News Sports Female Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Senator Jim Perry. Last week, Hatcher delivered a stellar performance against Wallace-Rose Hill, putting the Hawks on her back during crunch time.
In a key moment, Hatcher hit a two-run homer that brought the Hawks back into the game, pushing it to extra innings. She didn't stop there; in the eighth inning, Hatcher doubled, driving in two more runs. Her final stats for the game were impressive: 3-for-5 with five RBIs, two runs scored, and a double.
Off the field, Hatcher's preparation routine includes enjoying chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A and sweet tea. Her pregame music of choice is classic rock, which helps her get in the zone before stepping onto the field. While she values all her teammates, she shares a close bond with Maddie Rouse and Jay Ross, highlighting the team's supportive environment.
Alyssa’s inspiration comes from her family, particularly her father, Bobby Hatcher, who is also her coach, and her uncle, Chris Hatcher, a former MLB pitcher. Their influence is evident in her disciplined approach and performance.
Alyssa Hatcher’s remarkable contributions on and off the field continue to make a significant impact for the North Lenoir Hawks.
