2A EAST NCHSAA FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS

#19 (7-4) Kinston at #3 (11-0) Southeast Alamance

Trey Scott: Kinston is peaking at the right time. This team has progressed every week. Tyler Jones has been big taking care of the rock. This matchup favors Kinston in my opinoin because the Vikings have the athletes to match up against SE Alamance spread. I am calling out Khigh DBs Jemorris Poole and Exzavion Croom, I think they will have to play a big for Vikings to win. Kinston 34 SE Alamance 21

#17 (7-4) Greene Central at #1 (11-0) Northeastern

Trey Scott: As crazy as it might sound, I think the matchup favors Greene Central. Are they favorites to win? Definitely not! Northeastern is legit, and their quarterback has done a phenomenal job over the last two years. However, Greene Central is healthy and fully staffed for probably the second time all season (last week and this week). They have arguably faced one of the hardest schedule in ENC. Don’t doubt the Rams. I think the Greene Central defense turns the tide, and their run game pulls through. Call me crazy—I don’t care. Greene Central 28, Northeastern 27.

Trey’s predictions for the rest of the 2A Playoffs:
#25 East Duplin at #24 West Craven - West Craven passing attack will be too strong, going to be a great game! East Duplin is playoff built, this is the toughest matchup to predict.
#22 J. A. Holmes at #6 Ayden Grifton - AG’s offense is dynamic and I think that will be the difference. AG wins!
#23 Princeton at #7 Eastern Wayne - This should be good, two close schools, EW has too much speed! EW wins!
#20 SW Edgecombe at #4 Wallace RH- Classic matchup. 2 Smash mouth teams. I see 3 overtimes, WRH wins.
#12 James Kenan at #5 Martin County - UPSET ALERT- I think James Kenan is battle tested and wins by two touchdowns.
#15 Farmville at #2 Whiteville- UPSET ALERT- I particularly think EPC is one of the best conference in the ENC this year. #15 Farmville is explosive! Whiteville is notoriously known for playoff runs but I think FC gets to round 3.
