Lancers Continue Winning Streak with Sweep Over Richard Bland College
The Lenoir Community College Lancers extended their winning streak to four games, improving to 19-10 on the season after a decisive three-game series sweep against Richard Bland College this past weekend.
Game One saw the Lancers triumph with a 10-3 victory, led by Kevin Jones, who notched a home run, a double, three RBIs, two hits, and two runs. Close behind was Logan Merritt, who contributed a home run, three RBIs, two runs, and two hits. On the mound, Tyler Thompson secured the win, pitching a complete game with six strikeouts and allowing nine hits.
In Game Two, the Lancers narrowly defeated Richard Bland College 6-5. Tanner Cannon delivered a home run, one RBI, one run, and two hits, while Kevin Jones added two doubles, two runs, and two hits. Logan Merritt had a double, one RBI, one run, and two hits, and Will Orr contributed a double and two RBIs. Brandon Warren started on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings with five strikeouts, and Grey Gurganious followed with 3.2 innings and three strikeouts.
The Lancers completed the sweep in Game Three with an impressive 8-0 shutout. Cullen Tucker pitched a complete game, giving up only two hits and striking out nine batters. Kevin Jones set the tone early, hitting a solo home run in his first at-bat. Jones finished the game 4-6
