The Playoff Picture
Playoffs
64 total teams will make the NCHSAA State Basketball Tournament. 32 two teams from each side of the state (East, West). The only guaranteed playoff spot from each conference is the conference champion. Each conference champion will receive a #1 seed. After all #1 seeds are placed the tournament will be filled based off RPI Rankings. Here is the current conference standings and RPI ratings. Tournament selection will not start until all regular season games, and conference playoffs have been played.

Kinston: Right now the Vikings are in good shape. They are not top dogs but they are right there at the coattails as Kinston should receive a #1 seed (5 to 7 seed) if they finish the season off consistently. At the lowest Kinston will receive a #2 seed (8 to 15 seed)
North Lenoir: At this moment, the Hawks are mathethically eliminated from state tournament unless they win the conference tournament next week.
South Lenoir: At this moment, the Blue Devils are mathethically eliminated from state tournament unless they win the conference tournament next week.
Greene Central: The Rams are in as of right now. Greene Central would be in the range of #26 to #30 seeds.
Jones Sr.: Trojans are about to go head up against Northside. If they want a chance to win in the playoffs they must win as they are on the bubble of not making the playoffs. I have them as the “First Two Out” of the NCHSAA Tournament Selection.

North Lenoir: Right now I have the Hawks in but in the lower seeds around 25 to 29 seed. Hawks will face Kinston and then the conference tournament. North Lenoir needs to win to lock in the playoff spot.
Kinston: The Vikings are in decent shape. They are in the playoff with a mid-to-late seed from 15 seed to 22 seed. They can improve their seedings by finishing the season strong.
South Lenoir: At this moment, I have the South Lenoir Ladies being the first team out of not being selected. To change this path, South Lenoir must have a strong conference tournament run.
Greene Central: The Rams are currently in the playoff but in the bottom sections of the bracket anywhere from 29th seed to 32nd seed.
Jones Sr.: At this moment, Jones Sr is eliminated from NCHSAA unless they have an amazing conference tournament run to improve their resume.
