C.B. Aycock Dominates North Lenoir 49-6
PIKEVILLE, NC — The C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons (3-0) maintained their perfect start to the season with a commanding 49-6 victory over the North Lenoir Hawks (0-3). Despite a promising defensive play by the Hawks, who forced a fumble on C.B. Aycock’s opening possession, they quickly handed the ball back to the Falcons. Aycock capitalized with a four-yard rushing touchdown and never relinquished control of the game.
North Lenoir struggled to find rhythm on offense, using five different running backs throughout the game. Malik Fuller led the charge with 25 rushing yards and a two-yard touchdown, accounting for the Hawks' only score. As a team, the Hawks managed just 80 yards on the ground and just under a total of 100 yards in offense. The passing game fared no better, with the Hawks completing only 7 yards on 3 passing attempts.
North Lenoir Head Coach Larry Dale reflected on his team's performance: “The kids fought, and I can't complain about that. With about five minutes to go in the first half, it was still 14-0. We just have to learn how to get over that hump as a program as a whole. I’ve said this since day one. We played hard all night; we just really need to get healthy.”
Looking ahead to their matchup against East Carteret (0-3), Dale emphasized the significance of the game, especially with the anniversary of the passing of Coach Tony Hill approaching. “That’s a big thing to us, but we just have to get healthy, play our brand of football, and that has to be the goal,” Dale stated.
North Lenoir will aim for their first win of the season in their next game, hoping to turn things around and honor the memory of their former coach.
