Braden Burress Named 2A NCBCA Player of the Year; Luke Cannon and Burress selected to All-state; All-Region teams
The North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association (NCBCA) has honored some of the top baseball talents in the state with their annual All-State and All-Region teams announcement.
Greene Central’s Braden Burress was named the 2A State Player of the Year after batting .557 and achieving 11 wins as a pitcher. This impressive performance ranks him as North Carolina's state leader and 8th in the nation for pitching wins according to maxpreps.com.
Joining him in recognition, North Lenoir’s Luke Cannon secured a spot on the NCBCA All-State team. Cannon demonstrated notable versatility, excelling both at bat and on the mound throughout the season.
In addition to these All-State honorees, the NCBCA also announced their All-Region teams. Representing Greene Central on the All-Region 2 team were Leland Barrow, Austin Hardy, and Will Radford. North Lenoir's standout, Hunter Coulombe, also earned a spot on the All-Region 2 team, marking another high note in an exceptional season.
