14th Annual Freedom Classic Baseball Series Set for February 21-23, 2025
Kinston, NC – The 14th Annual Freedom Classic baseball series between the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy is set to take place February 21-23, 2025, at historic Grainger Stadium in Kinston, North Carolina. This non-profit event is coordinated by Kinston-Lenoir County Parks & Recreation along with a committee of volunteers and staff.
Some highlights of the weekend include:
Military performances and flyovers before each game, featuring a Friday pregame performance by the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and a Sunday flyover by the Bullseye Flight Team.
Military appreciation and pre-game ceremonies held 20 minutes before each game.
Military displays throughout the stadium, including actual military vehicles, medals, and photos presented by local veterans’ groups.
A large American flag display on the field before each game, sponsored by WoodmenLife Insurance.

Other notable events during the weekend include the Captains Luncheon and the Freedom Classic Banquet, held in appreciation of both teams and their continued participation in this annual event.
The Captains Luncheon will be held at noon on Friday, February 21, at the Kinston Country Club (1501 Country Club Dr., Kinston, NC 28504). This event is for the coaches, captains, and players of the Air Force and Naval Academy teams.
The Freedom Classic Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 6 p.m. at the Kinston Community Center (2602 W. Vernon Ave., Kinston, NC 28504). Members of local government, including Kinston City Council and other officials, will be in attendance. The banquet is open to the public, and tickets are available for $20 per person.

Free: Active Military
$5.00: Retired Military, Military Dependents, Veterans, Seniors (60+), and ages 4-17
$7.00: General Admission (ages 18 and older)
$15.00: Tournament Pass (includes all three games)
Free: Children 3 and under
Limited Box Seats: $125 per box
